The blog and ping tutoral is a 100+ page .pdf ebook that describes in step by step detail how to setup a blogger.com blog and related pinging services, then ping it to Yahoo and other social sites in order to get maximum rapid exposure in the shortest period of time.
Pros:
If you are new to blog and ping, and intend to use a Blogger.com Blog, this is a very well organized and comprehensive, step by step Blog and Ping Course that includes tons of screenshots. It is aimed at Blogger.com blogs and provides an excellent foundational understanding of exactly how to blog and ping PROPERLY for the best results.
Cons:
a. This course focuses exclusively on Blogger.com Blogs. If you use any other type of blog, much of the information will be useless to you.
b. The problem I have with Blogger.com blogs is the fact that Blogger.com has been known to delete blogs they don’t approve of from time to time so if you use Blogger, make sure you abide by their rules and regulations or you might wake up to find your blog is gone!
c. While blog and ping is still a very useful method and if done correctly, CAN make a notable difference in how quickly your site is considered for listings, it is NOT as rapid or effective a method as it was in the early days of blog and ping. It is still faster than submitting your site to the engines and waiting for consideration however.
Note: I personally use Wordpress blogs for myself and my clients and will be adding some great information, tools and resources for optimizing a wordpress blog.
